Booms were accompanied. We got off the lake since no one else was on it.
And then it cleared up. Because of course.

I have one distinct memory of going out on the my Grandpas boat with my family . I think I was 10 at the time. after about an hour on the water we saw a Huuuge. Storm coming. We hauled it back to the marina, my me and 4 of my cousins got into the back of my moms Buick Century wagon. Just as we got in the car the sky’s let loose. It rained so hard, with so much wind that water was coming in through the rear door. we had to sit it put cuz you couldn’t see out of the car. That was when I learned that North Carolina storms are on a whole other level. I’d never seen anything like that in Maine.

One of my most exciting days on the lake was when a storm blew in while we sailing Sunfish. The gust front caused one boat to turtle. After we got it upright, we had a hell of a time getting everyone back to the dock.
